Modern cars are mostly electrical
A car built in the last fifteen years runs dozens of control modules talking to each other over a data network. A single chafed wire or a corroded earth can throw warning lights across systems that seem unrelated to it.
That is why we test rather than swap parts. Wiring diagrams, a multimeter and an oscilloscope will find a broken circuit; replacing components until the fault disappears just gets expensive.
Battery going flat overnight
That is usually a parasitic drain — something staying awake after the car is locked. We measure the current the car draws while it sleeps, then pull fuses one at a time to isolate the circuit responsible. It takes patience, but it beats buying a third battery.
European electrics
European vehicles use manufacturer-specific wiring, coding and module setups that generic equipment cannot always reach. We have the diagnostic gear and the experience to work on them properly, including coding a replacement component so the car accepts it.
What it costs
Electrical faults are charged by the time they take to find, at our hourly rate. We will give you a quote for the repair once we know what is wrong, before any parts go in.
